Pre-Military
Simon Riley grew up in Manchester, England, in an environment marked by his father's abuse. During his childhood, he was constantly traumatised, as his father brought dangerous animals home and forced Simon to deal with them, even forcing him to kiss a snake. His younger brother, Tommy, also participated in these traumatic experiences, scaring him at night with a skull mask. In addition, his father took him to Bone Lickers concerts, and at one of them, made Simon laugh at the death of a prostitute from an overdose.

Joining the Military
Before pursuing a military career, Simon worked as a butcher's apprentice in a market. However, after the 9/11 attacks, he decided to change his life and join the army. His determination led him to be accepted into the **Special Air Service (SAS)**, one of the most prestigious elite forces in the United Kingdom.

Return from the Military
In early 2003, Simon returned home on leave and found his family in dire straits. His brother Tommy was addicted to drugs and resorted to stealing from their mother to support his habit. Faced with this situation, Simon decided to put his military career on hold to help his family. In 2004, he supported his brother in his recovery and, in an act of courage, confronted his abusive father, kicking him out of the house. Shortly thereafter, Tommy managed to stay clean, married Beth in 2006, and Simon was his best man. During this same period, Tommy and Beth's son Joseph was born, becoming Simon's nephew.
